First Stop: Valentine's Day!

Valentine's day is coming up FAST, so I thought, "hey, why not take this as an opportunity to hock some new product??" There is a woman that I work with who has bake sales in the employee kitchen every once in a while. She makes amazing cupcakes and breads, so I asked if she'd want to team up for a Valentine's Day bake sale. Luckily, she said she would LOVE to! I'm super stoked for this and have been brainstorming all day what delectables I should sell.

Here is what I've come up with so far...

Red Madeleine Cookies!

Chocolate Dipped Strawberries!
(I may even use vegan chocolate for these so that the vegans at work will have a tasty option)

French Macarons!

I will probably use Martha Stewart's recipe

I think that maybe be all that I make because I don't want to go uber overboard. Three cute Valentine themed treats should be sufficient. Plus, of course, my work buddy will be selling cupcakes and probably one or two other types of goodies.

I'm pretty excited about this. I wish I had business cards or something to pass out, but that's probably getting ahead of myself.

What are your favorite Valentine's Day treats??

Getting Started

I figure that these days social media and web presence is super important in starting a new business. So this morning I spent the day making Tartlet Bakery pages all over the place. My awesomely super and supportive boyfriend registered the domain name www.tartletbakery.com, so within the next 24 hours, that should show as belonging to me. I've also created a Facebook page, Etsy account, and Twitter. I even got a Google Voice number to use for my business.

None of this stuff is very pretty yet, and I don't have a website going at all, but I wanted to quickly own that name on every site I could think of so that when I get everything up and going, I already have the accounts.

I also filled out the forms to register for a fictitious name in my county. Hopefully I'll have time to drop them off at the county clerk office tomorrow!

Huzzah!

A Bakery Called "Tartlet"

This is it! My very first post for my new adventure! My name is Aubrey Nichole and I am beginning a journey towards owning a bakery. This is the very start. All I have going for me is a name and a dream. I'm broke and in a career that I no longer see myself in long term, but am looking forward to making my passion my career. WOO! I'm so excited :D
